| Its obviously Genryusai Yamamoto. I mean, he founded Soul Academy, hes the General/Head Captain, and he has the most fearful zanpak-to, Ryujin Jakka.  But if he wasnt there, and Aizen never existed, I'd choose, Kenpachi Zaraki and/or Byakuya Kuchiki.  | |

| Shunsui or Unohana, if we aren't counting Yamamoto or Aizen.
Ukitake, Shunsui and Unohana were some of the first captains, but Ukitake has tuberculosis, so he's out.
